  • Tell me where our time went
And if it was time well spent
Just don't let me fall asleep
    Feeling empty again

Cause I fear I might break
    And I fear I can't take it
Tonight I'll lie awake feeling empty

    I can feel the pressure
    It's getting closer now
    We're better off without you

Somehow everything's gonna fall right into place
If we only had a way to make it all fall faster everyday
If only time flew like a dove
We're gonna make it fly faster than I'm falling alone

This time we're not giving up
    Let's make it last forever
    Screaming "Hallelujah"
    We'll make it last forever

    Holding onto patience, wearing thin
I can't force these eyes to see the end
If only time flew like a dove
Well we could watch it fly, and just keep looking up

This time we're not giving up
    Let's make it last forever
    Screaming "Hallelujah"
    We'll make it last forever

  • i know most people get really bored when others recount their dreams in their blogs.

but honestly, weirdest (and the one that's felt most real) dream EVER.
and it all happened during half an hour of sleep.

first i'm in the pt and it's farewell assembly. we get back our cca records and mine's horrible. it looks like it's been handwritten by a child and it's completely wrong. i look around and strangely i'm sitting between taufik (not the sg idol, taufik from acjc that i met at gylc) and britney (not spears, our britney). behind me is deb, sitting next to youknowwho-theonewhopretendshe'sfromvj from tuition.

somehow me and deb get into some huge argument and our friendship looks like it can never be reconciled. huay shan and lina then try to calm us down and we become friends again. after that, we go to a teacher at the back of the pt (who turns out to be jessica biel) and she's gonna change our cca records for us.

next scene, i'm in france on a holiday with my family and it's pretty cool. somehow i'm also travelling with another ang moh family - one of the sons looks like michael guy chislett. we then take some crappy $50 photos at a photobooth and have a disgusting dinner that looks like spagetti in drain water.

we check in to our swanky hotel and i decide to explore the place. but oh no! the elevator stops and i hear something snap. OMG we start falling and the elevator is picking up speed. (THIS IS THE PART THAT FELT SUPREMELY REAL) But thank god we snag upon something that breaks the fall and we survive. we spend days trying to get out and when we finally get the door open and someone from the lift goes outside, he meets the mafia that's been chasing him for months. they're the ones who cut the elevator cables!

this part felt so jurassic-park. the mafia were peering into the elevator and the rest of us were pressed up against the wall, trying hard not to breathe. finally they decide to barricade us in before leaving.

after a couple days of trying to call for help (i called my grandma but she kept asking me what i wanted to eat though i was screaming for my life), the room suddenly turned into some hotel room. i walked out the door and eh, i'm back in my living room.

that's when i woke up. long dream eh.

  • Clothes Off

did you know that clothes off by gym class heroes is actually a cover?

found the original on you tube which made me laugh.
it's called 'we DON'T have to take our clothes off' by jermaine stewart.
the song's really different, only the chorus sounds similar.

we don't have to take our clothes off
    to have a good time
    oh no
we could dance and party all night
    and drink some cherry wine

personally, i prefer gym class heroes's take on it.

  • OUR LGM RAP!

found this on you tube, our "item" for the delegation rally. can't believe they wrote it in like 15 minutes.

  • Violent Tendencies

i think doing tutorials makes you violent.

out of the 4 tables at starbucks, 3 were taken by people studying.
    but that last darn table...

first it was 2 american girls - they were wearing some green uniform - bitching about who's been cheating on who and how their 'friends' have betrayed them - so laguna beach.

then came these 2 jc girls who also started bitching about people and commenting about the dress sense of people who walked past.

there was peace for a while when the table was taken by some businessman but i should've known that was just the calm before the storm.

3 girls, one of which had such a high voice - an uncanny resemblance to the girl in vj who made my hair stand when she called lina - that just cut through all other sound. i had to restrain myself when she imitated another supposedly bimbotic girl. i tried to muster the most unapproving look i could but i don't think she noticed haha.

just as i was wondering whether it was just all in my imagination, i heard another guy throw that girl a dirty look and whisper to his friend "you've got to stop me if i try to kill her". i so agree.

  • THIS IS IT.

    I JUST FINISHED.

god i'm such a slow reader.
i can't believe i ponned school to read HP. haha just couldn't leave the story dangling like that.

and i have to say I KNEW IT.
don't worry, not going to give away spoilers, just that a lot of the stuff i expected to happen happened but with slight twists. think i'd have liked my way better though. haha

i was reading quickly, wanting to see how it all ended, but i felt like it was so abrupt when it did. when i read the last line, i didn't want to close the book.

it was the final sentence i would ever read of harry potter.

i liked the way everything tied together (though i admit there were a few loose ends and it was albeit a little too similar to lotr for my liking). but hey i love the book anyway. i remember the first time i read the philosopher's stone, it was a christmas gift from my aunt who brought it all the way from england. i became HP obsessed for weeks - i really wanted to write a letter to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

i love the way you almost get sucked into the books when you're reading them. the vivid way with which everything's described, making you want to leave real life and go to hogwarts, learn transfiguration, potions and defence against the dark arts, have a feast at the great hall, wish that quidditch actually existed or that you could buy every-flavour-beans (not the fake kind they sell in real life) or weasleys' wizard wheezes.

i like the way the book reflects reality in its undercurrents but manages to bring you into a world of magic and mystery. the way it drags you into the war with voldemort, making you want to be there to fight as well. the way it stresses that choices, not birth rights, are ultimately what matters. think it's the focus the book places on students, that such a world could exist right under our noses, that makes it magic.

    ah the great fantasy books.
sigh, life really doesn't have any meaning now.

cheers harry potter, for those god-knows-how-many-pages which were never quite enough
